Apparently, our homeschooling program needs a name, or so sayeth the monthly attendance forms, at least. What can I call my program of study? I’m going back and forth between a name that makes an accurate, if boring, statement (McLernins Secular Elementary Home Study Program?), a name that is creative, if overblown (Eternal Hottentots Academy for Excellence?), or a name whose acronym spells a dirty word.
Suggestions?

Which attendance forms are you using? Weird, I’ve never seen a spot for a name. But I would definitely go with one of the latter two. Academy, btw, tends to be the favored word – there are fewer “Institutes” among homeschoolers. Program and School are both less common than that. In case you want to make sure you are REALLY unique.
I printed them out from GHEA and the first line is “Name of Home Study Program.”
How about “The House of Lernins?”
Ah, I use the ones from HEIR.
Hmm. THOL. Too bad nothing w/ an R works there, you could be THOR.
I’m also considering coming up with something a little 1984-esque.
You could call it “Name of Home Study Program.”
“Name of Home Study Program Academy“
Reely reely god hom skool.
Secular Homeschool Institute of Tomorrow (or Today, or any other “T” word). I’m all for a title that spells out an explicative
)
I’m sure you’ve already though of something, but here’s some of my suggestions (particularly working with your last idea that the acronym spells something dirty):
Secular Lernins Undoing Teacher’s Scarring (SLUTS)
Bah, I’m trying to think of something to spell ASS. “Academy ..”, “Academic..”. Brain not working. Oh well, looks like that’s all I’ve got at 4am.
